By the Tide

By now you should have received your Spring Catalogue and have spent lots of time drooling over all the lovely products in there!  If you haven't and you are in Canada, email me and I can mail you one!  This is a card I made for Basic and Beautiful class at the end of the month (Jan 30)  and it is masculine, which can sometimes be trickier, so I am already planning to give this to one of my B-I-Ls for his birthday coming up soon.

It uses the new stamp set By the Tide and the Natural Trim Ribbon.  The colours I used are Chocolate Chip, Pool Party & Wild Wasabi. I used the Colour Coach to help me decide which colours to use – I LOVE the Colour Coach.  I sometimes get stuck in my tried and true colour combos, so the Colour Coach is fabulous to help us get outside our regular color zones.

You'll see more Spring Catalogue products at our SAB and Spring Catty Smackdown.  Click here to register for the event! Hope to see you there.

Embellished Events Meet-a-Versary

This week is my 20th Meet-a-Versary for my dh and me.  I don't usually make him a card for our meet-a-versary, but somehow reaching the 20th felt like it did merit one.  I used Embellished Events & Memorable Moments stamp sets with the Argyle Embossing Folder and LOVED adding the Rhinestones over the champagne bubbles. FUN FUN FUN!!

This photo of us was taken this past Thanksgiving. Love you Honey!!  Looking forward to another 20 years (at least)!

Blue Ribbon Birthday (Mojo Monday in disguise)

14 Years ago today I gave birth to my BOY!!! It's hard to believe it was really 14 years ago. I know that it is such a cliche – but wow, time really does fly.  I remember the day he was born so well – and how little Chris and I knew about having a baby lol.  Anyway – to get back to the topic, I wanted to stamp a birthday card for my ds and I thought the Blue Ribbon Stamp set was perfect!  Looking for some starting inspiration, I checked out the Mojo Monday site and started with their sketch for this week.  I used Gumball Green, Midnight Muse (I can't get enough of this colour!!) and Daffodil Delight.

Below is my boy preforming in August – I love this pic of him, he is so intent on the music lol.  A lot has changed in 14 years – only I love him even more. I'm feeling pretty lucky today! We're off now to his restaurant of choice for supper (Jack Astors).  Hope you are having a great day.  Leave me a comment if you like this card!

Stampers Technique Group- Shaving Cream Technique

Stampers Technique Club will be starting again in September! They happen on the first Tuesday of the month and we will be doing 3 projects each night.  If you decide to join, you join from Sept until June and we meet once a month at my house.  Each participant orders $30 in product (whatever you would like!) and everyone gets a turn getting the hostess benefitls! So that means FREE stuff, when it is your turn and every meeting you will learn something new for sure!  I have a limited number of spaces available, so if you are intersted let me know as soon as you can!  These technique nights are a fabulous way to learn new things, budget your stamping money over time and still get FREE PRODUCTS!  Most importantly you get an evening out with fun ladies!

In September we will be doing the Shaving Cream Technique and a Magic Card (plus one surprise!).  The shaving cream card pictured here was made by my friend and downline Amanda Kovacs and we'll be making this very card in Sept!

If you would like to see how this technqiue is done, you can check out my very first video I ever did! Click HERE to see it!

By the Seashore

I needed another masculine birthday card and I REALLY wanted to use By the Seashore.  I thought the colours Pool Party and Island Indigo were perfect. Notice how I placed all three stamps on the block at once so I only had to stamp the images once, instead of trying to line them all up one by one.  I also used Dazzling Details (it comes in that little bottle pictured above) and it is like glitter glue and so easy to use and great value! You can't really see the shimmer but it is a nice touch on top of the starfish, sand dollar and shell.

The list of supplies is below for you.

Memorable Moments and By the Seashore

Today is our Wedding Anniversary.  I started out wanting to use the By the Seashore (page 93) stamp set, since we both love the sea and it is GREAT for masculine cards. Instead, the set Memorable Moments  (page 139) was calling out to me from my shelves.  I used Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Midnight Muse as the accent colour.  On the inside I used the Forever and Always stamp from Loving Thoughts (page 136) and the crab from By the Seashore, just so I could use it.  The Labels Collection Framelits totally coordinate with that set (page 191) and I thought the Naturals Designer buttons (page 176) were perfect with a little linen thread tied through them. I also used the Fancy Fan folder (it sort of reminded me of sea shells) and I also used the Bitty Banner Framelits to cut out the Anniversary ( I LOVE banners!)

This is a photo of us on the Eiffel Tower in June – it poured rain while we were up there and we thought we would get a silly shot, despite the rain. I'm a lucky lady! Happy Anniversary Chris!
