By the Tide

By now you should have received your Spring Catalogue and have spent lots of time drooling over all the lovely products in there! If you haven't and you are in Canada, email me and I can mail you one! This is a card I made for Basic and Beautiful class at the end of the month (Jan 30) and it is masculine, which can sometimes be trickier, so I am already planning to give this to one of my B-I-Ls for his birthday coming up soon.

It uses the new stamp set By the Tide and the Natural Trim Ribbon. The colours I used are Chocolate Chip, Pool Party & Wild Wasabi. I used the Colour Coach to help me decide which colours to use – I LOVE the Colour Coach. I sometimes get stuck in my tried and true colour combos, so the Colour Coach is fabulous to help us get outside our regular color zones.

You'll see more Spring Catalogue products at our SAB and Spring Catty Smackdown. Click here to register for the event! Hope to see you there.
Blue Ribbon Birthday (Mojo Monday in disguise)

14 Years ago today I gave birth to my BOY!!! It's hard to believe it was really 14 years ago. I know that it is such a cliche – but wow, time really does fly. I remember the day he was born so well – and how little Chris and I knew about having a baby lol. Anyway – to get back to the topic, I wanted to stamp a birthday card for my ds and I thought the Blue Ribbon Stamp set was perfect! Looking for some starting inspiration, I checked out the Mojo Monday site and started with their sketch for this week. I used Gumball Green, Midnight Muse (I can't get enough of this colour!!) and Daffodil Delight.

Below is my boy preforming in August – I love this pic of him, he is so intent on the music lol. A lot has changed in 14 years – only I love him even more. I'm feeling pretty lucky today! We're off now to his restaurant of choice for supper (Jack Astors). Hope you are having a great day. Leave me a comment if you like this card!

By the Seashore

I needed another masculine birthday card and I REALLY wanted to use By the Seashore. I thought the colours Pool Party and Island Indigo were perfect. Notice how I placed all three stamps on the block at once so I only had to stamp the images once, instead of trying to line them all up one by one. I also used Dazzling Details (it comes in that little bottle pictured above) and it is like glitter glue and so easy to use and great value! You can't really see the shimmer but it is a nice touch on top of the starfish, sand dollar and shell.

The list of supplies is below for you.
Everything Eleanor 80th Birthday

My M-I-L is turning 80 next week. Getting to 80 is a big deal, so I really wanted to make her a lovely card. I used the Everything Eleanor Set (now my current favourite stamp set! lol) with Marina Mist and Crumb Cake. I stamped the swirls all over the Very Vanilla Cardstock and then put the card stock through one of the new Embossing Folders in the Holiday Mini called Lacy Brocade.

Here are the supplies in case you want to order any of them! The Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder will only be available on Aug 1.
Below is one of my favourite photos of my DH and his Mom when he was a baby.

Just Add Cake
This week my only Sister-in-Law is turning 50! We are actually in the same province so I had to make sure and make her a special card to celebrate this special birthday.
I used the new Just Add Cake Designer Paper and I put the the Daffodil Delight square piece in the center of the card through the new Stripes Embossing folder for the Big Shot. I used the new RIding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon! Plus I used the Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder for the Happy Birthday! Then I added the 3 rhinestones for a little bling and Voila! I love it – and I hope she does too
