Accordion Flower Card

Happy Monday – I know it has been a while since I’ve posted.  We’ve have a busy couple of weeks.  My family and I went to visit my sister in Houston, Texas for March break and I got to spend some wonderful time with my cutie pie niece – Julia.  My daughter has had two dance competitions in the last week, I’ve had to get all my book  keeping done to get my taxes filed AND we have started painting our entire house – Whew!

Here’s a project from my April stamping groups.  I’ve included the entire tutorial for you so you can make your own!

Isn’t this a cute card?  I saw this flower on the inside on our SAB mini brochure and then one of my very talented downline demonstrated a nice way to make them at our last SparkleDaisy Stamptogether – Thanks Celine for showing us how to do this easily!

Start with a strip of designer paper (12"x1.5") and use the scallop edge punch all along one side.

Using a stylus, make score lines all along the strip of paper using the scallops as your guide – score in between each scallop.

Fold on the score lines in an accordion fashion.  Use a bit of sticky strip on one end of the trip and adhere the short ends of your paper together.

Gently collapse the strip flat to the table and use a Pop Up Glue dot to hold the inside of the flower together.  Add an embellishment on top of the glue dot – I’ve used a rub on and then punched out a circle with the 1" circle punch.

 Ta Da!!!

PS – the designer paper is from the Raspberry Tart DSP. LOVE it!

Wow, that is cool! I’m going to have to try this technique sometime (need to get my edge punch thingy first…just ordered it last week). Can’t wait to try this though.

Oh, you’ve scalloped the edge of the flower – how clever! Nice use of the rub-on for the centre, too. (I still have some leftover from last year’s convention, I should really get cracking on them before they leave the catalogue.)

I hope you have a nice week!

What a great tutorial! I’ve always wondered how these were done. This inspired me to try one out – it turned out great! I love the twist using the scallop punch – it sure makes it easy to score. (I used my Scor-It, which made this a real breeze.)
