Babies Babies Babies!

I wanted to make these cards really special since both of my nieces were being Christened at the same time and I was honoured to have been asked to be Godmother to both of them! I didn’t have a set that was totally specific to the occasion, so I got creative with what I had (as we stampers often have to!). I embossed the Alphabet Stamp Set Lovely Letters with silver EP and used the circle punches and scallop circle punch to frame the letters (the L is for Leah and the J is for Julia). I also used our new colour Pink Pirouette which is PERFECT for these cards! I also used the Pink Pirouette Designer Series Paper and then framed those panels with the Scallop edge punch in Whisper White cardstock. Since I didn’t have any silver cardstock (time to re-stock!) I just used our Basic Gray cardstock and matching taffeta ribbon. Basic Gray is a colour that tends to fly under my radar sometimes, but is so perfect for so many different colour combinations.
Below is my dd with Julia (she’s a wiggle worm – and gorgeous!)

Below is my ds with Leah. Leah is wearing the same dress that both of my children wore when they were Christened. I had it made from my Grandmother’s wedding dress and the lady who made it even used some of the lace flowers from her veil on the dress! It’s so special and so nice to see Leah using it too!

Here is my entire family!

Happy 40th Anniversary!

One of the reasons I’m home in Newfoundland right now is to help celebrate my parents 40th Anniversary! We had a party for them at my sister’s house (she was good enough to host this bash! LOL!). My sis that lives here in St. John’s is married to a great guy and they have two little kids who are adorable. My other sister and her great dh are here from Calgary with my beautiful niece (10 months old) so the gang’s all here and we’re fitting in so much while we’re together.
I have to admit that I’m often last minute making cards for these events, but even though I was stamping this card the night before our flight left Ottawa, I was happy with how it turned out. I used the set To Have and To Hold – which is a wedding-ish set but I thought it was perfect for an anniversary card. That set doesn’t appear in the new catalogue, but it IS still available for purchase. It is on the Dormant List (stamp sets which are still available but don’t appear in the catalogue right now). If you would like to see the entire Dormant List, click HERE The "Happy Anniversary" sentiment comes from Hugs and Wishes on page 141 of the current catalogue.
There’s so much to share with you – I’m excited to be here (as Dorothy would say – There’s no place like home") and I want to share a bit with you, so please indulge me for the next few posts. Below is a photo of my wonderful parents at the - anniversary party and below that is my whole family (minus the kids). After the party was all done (a few days later), we went out for an AMAZING dinner at a restaurant called Atlantica. If you are ever in the St. John’s area, this restaurant is a must visit!) An awesome view of the Atantic ocean and the Bell Island Ferry with INCREDIBLE food and service. My dh and I are 5th and 6th from the left.
Stay tuned - two of my baby nieces were baptized yesterday and I made them gorgeous cards (well, lets face it I made them for my sisters LOL). So soon I’ll have those to show you and of course baby photos too.

Inspired by Nature & Dreams Du Jour

These are the cards that we did at my open house last week! I just love this set Inspired by Nature! It’s on page 100 of the catalogue and I know you’re going to love it too! To make this card, we inked up the flowers using Pink Pirouette and then added Riding Hood Red and Tangerine Tango using sponge daubers directly to the flowers before you stamp it! Easy Peasy but Beautiful! LOL! Plus those are three of the New InColours!!! LOVE THEM!
For the card below we stamped the primary image with Black Stayzon ink and then used blender pens to add colour to the image with ink refills. The butterfly was stamped with Versamark and we used the scallop edge punch to do the scallop edge along the bottom – GORGE!
Have you made out your wish list for the new catalogue yet???
