Big Shot Butterfly Die Lip Balm

I had so much fun at our Mom and Me Valentine class yesterday.  With Katie and I there were 11 of us and the girls were so sweet and did a beautiful job of their projects.  We did 2 cards, a milk jug (using the Big Shot Die from the Occasions mini) and this cute little lip balm Butterfly.  I used the Butterfly die to cut out the butterflies ahead of time and I used the Sending Love Specialty paper from the Occasions mini.  It already has glitter on it!!! LOVE IT! Everyone has fallen in love with this paper so far – seeing it in the mini doesn't do it justice until you see it in person.

I got this idea from swaps at Leadership.  The butterfly below was one of my Mom's swaps – I took a photo but I don't know who made it.  It is gorgeous and I love how she used the little tag punch from the mini as an embellishment.  Now I have to have that tag punch!! LOL!

I'll be booking more Mom and Me classes since this one was so fun :)   Stay tuned!

Flower Brooch with Flower Folds Die

This is one of the make and takes we did at our SparkleDaisy Christmas party.  I used the Flower folds die and put the fabric through the Big Shot.  I bought the fabric on sale (they were drapery ends) and I love these buttons with the little bling in the center.  I got this idea from Shelli Gardner's blog – she is the co-founder of Stampin' Up!  Click HERE to see her blog post with directions on how to make these yourself!

You can put all sorts of fabric through the Big Shot.  They are becoming really popular with quilters – we received a quite square at Leadership to show how the dies can be used.  So many ways to use the Big Shot! Love it!

Mom’s Tri Shutter Card

I'm happy to be posting to my blog…. As you know I have changed to a Mac and I'm still learning about it.  I have been having issues with editing my photos and for a while there I wasn't able to pull them into Photoshop to edit them. I have just found a workaround, but I'm pretty sure that someone in the know could tell me how to REALLY do it, so I'm going to call the Apple store here in Ottawa and see if I can set up a one-on-one session to get some questions answered.  Everyone talks about how much they LOVE their macs… I'm not quite in the Love Room yet, but I'm sure if I can learn more, I will be :)

Anyway, I'm sure you have heard me speak of my Mom before.  She's an awesome lady and a talented stamper with her own downline.  Click HERE to see an awesome photo of Mom at a the 2008 Stampin' Up Convention. She doesn't live near me, but we sometimes meet up at Stampin' Up! events. She attended leadership as well so I was able to spend some time with her :)   Mom is way more ambitious than I am as far as swaps are concerned, and she had signed up for a few organized swaps in Phoenix. This card was one of her swaps and it is SO NICE!  It's a Tri Shutter card – Click HERE to see one that I had made late last summer.

Mom used the Heart Embosslit (with the big shot) for the front as well as the Sending Love Specialty Designer paper from the Occasions Mini (One side has GLITTER!!).  Don't you LOVE the occasions mini???  There is just so much incredible new fun products in it!!  And the fact that it is Sale-A-Bration is just one more reason to buy – FREE STUFF! :)

Quick Update from Leadership

I'm here in Phoenix attending Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Convention and SO happy to be here. It reminds me why I love to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and how thankful I am to be able to share this wonderful hobby with so many people.

I'm posting a couple of photos from Day 1.  It certainly doesn't cover the entire day, but it's getting late and I'm fading lol!

This is one of my downline Cindy.  She is an incredibly talented stamped and overall wonderful person.  She was asked to be one of the Make and Take helpers at Leadership and she had such a cute pin on – I knew you would want to see it.

Now how cute is this??? And those felt flower accents from the Occasions mini are just adorable! Love it!!

We also got to see some wonderful booths with demonstrators showing great projects!!  One of them was done by Patty Bennett (who is an awesome stamper!) and she was showing these cute milk carton birdhouses made with our milk carton die from the Occasions mini.  Paired with the bird punch – these are adorable.

Below is a photo of our table doing make and takes.  If I look a little worse for wear, its because my luggage didn't show up until a day after me lol!  But it did show up thankfully.  At our table is  l-r front:Kim Assaly, Me, Tracey St-Louis, back: Kay Smith (my Mom!!) and Cindy. Make and takes are a fun part of any stamping event :)

That's all for now – I'll have more to show you hopefully tomorrow :)
