Billions of Birthday Parties!

June 22nd, 2009 by Marlayne

Okay - well not really billions, but this certainly seems to be  birthday party season.  My daughter’s birthday is in July, but we always try to have her party before school ends so everyone can be there.  Katie and I made her invitations using the Big Shot Cupcake (she put the designer paper through the big shot!).  The party details are all on the insert that you can pull out.  She was thrilled with them and had lots of fun at the party this past weekend.  I did a scrapbooking project with them too - I’ll show you that soon, since it can be adapted for any occasion.

Big Shot Matchboxes

May 27th, 2009 by Marlayne

We made these matchboxes using the Big Shot die for our May stampers groups!  They are so easy and so cute.  We used the Parisian Breeze DSP (again! :) and the coordinating stamp set in the occasions mini catalogue called Matchbox Messages.    Perfect for surprising someone with a litte treat!

Happy Birthday to my DH

May 12th, 2009 by Marlayne

This is the card I made for my dh’s birthday a couple of weeks ago.  I used the Parisian Breeze Designer paper (again :) but this time I put the blue background through my bigshot using the diamond pattern texture plate.    Once it was "embossed" I then used my sanding block on the top and it really makes the diamonds pop and adds extra texture.  This will not work with our cardstock since it is dyed right through, but is great with any of our designer papers.

The HB was done with the Serif Essentials alphabet, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and raised with stampin’ dimensionals.  I like this card since it is masculine enough - also you could change the HB to whatever initials you wanted or even make the into a Father’s Day Card.    The last card I made for Chris also used the Parisian Breeze designer paper - click here to go back to see it.

Petal Pizzazz Card

May 4th, 2009 by Marlayne

For the girls in my SparkleDaisy Downline - I send monthly cards for the top fifteen in sales.   This was the February card.  I got the idea from our Stampin’ Success Magazine (which we receive each month as demonstrators) and it uses the stamp set Petal Pizzazz. BTW:  this is just my original sample card - I put "Way to Go" on the cards that were sent out :)  This is a simple card but so pretty.

Demonstrator Shoebox Swap

April 23rd, 2009 by Marlayne

Last night we had a Demonstrator Shoebox swap… I love shoebox swaps, since you get to make 10 different projects that other people have prepared and try new stamps and products!  My page is pictured above with my Cutie Pie niece Julia in the photo.  I took this picture when we were visiting my sister’s family in March and I just love the look in her eyes, those gorgeous cheeks that you want to reach into the photo to kiss and even the crumbs on her lips - just too cute!

So for my page I used the ladybug stamp from Garden Whimsy - we stamped it in Real Red craft ink and clear embossed with Crystal Clear Embossing powder.  We used the scallop edge punch and the new satin ribbon from the Occasions Mini plus the new large Grommets.

I love new accessories so I had to buy the grommets, but I wasn’t sure what to do with them at first.  Once you find out where you want them on your cardstock, place a foam matt underneath and just push the grommet through the cardstock.  Then flip over your cardstock and use a hammer to gently tap back the pokey things (not the official word, but I’m sure you get the picture lol).

Here are some other pages from last night!  Doesn’t it get you in the scrapbooking state of mind!!  So many photos - so little time! LOL!

Movers and Shapers Curly Label Big Shot Die

April 20th, 2009 by Marlayne

Have you tried our Movers and Shapers Curly Label Big Shot Die?  First when I saw it in the catalogue I couldn’t quite get my head around how it works. But now that I’ve tried it I LOVE IT!!!  I made these cards for my downline who attended our Stamptogether (aka demonstrator meeting) in February.  I used the Raspberry Tart paper.  Have you noticed I’ve been using that a lot? - Oh you have noticed? Oh good.  Isn’t it lovely! I also used the satin ribbon in the current Idea Book and Catalogue which looks wonderful and has such a rich feel to it - especially with the decorative edging.

So getting back to this way cool die - it is an Extra Large die and will cut **and score** your entire card for you (the fold is at the top). The curly label part is magnetic and you can move it where ever you would like on the card. AND it coordinates with our Curly Label Punch bundle which includes our Curly label punch and stamp set!! (page 185 of the Idea book and catalogue).

The Movers and Shapers Die (pictured below) is item number 114506 and is on page195 of the catalogue.  Let me know if you try it!

Is there a Rock Star in your life?

April 16th, 2009 by Marlayne

If you have a Rock Star wanna be in your life - this is the stamp for them :)  The Rock Start stamp is one of our hostess stamp sets called A Little Something.  You can earn it for free if you host your own workshop.  Check out the hostess sets in our current Idea Book and Catalogue on pages 16-23.  Notice that the card base is Textured Cardstock.  I love it!

Cracked Glass - Bloomin’ Beautiful

April 14th, 2009 by Marlayne

This card uses the stamp set Bloomin’ Beatuiful and would be a lovely Mother’s Day card.  The technique is cracked glass and you can find a tutorial for it on Splitcoaststampers HERE.  Notice the oval punch from the Occassions mini I used on the front of the card.
